Haircuts for Everyone!

These pics are again in reverse order. This is Dreyton's first haircut at home courtesy of Dad.

Dreyton missed all the action earlier in the day when Jaxon and Dad got their hair cuts at Cool Kuts for Kids.

This is the "after" picture.

This is the serious look "during" his first haircut. (I think he's actually watching the Sesame Street video in front of him.)

And this is the "before" picture. You can see that his hair was very long on top. The lady did a good job...she took just enough off yet didn't make him look like a big kid.

What I failed to take a picture of was Dad's haircut in this same chair after Jax was done. He sat very still while Miss Kathryn did her job. He even stared at the Sesame Street video that was still on the screen in front of him:)

These pictures are actually in reverse order. The second one is what we saw when we looked out into our back yard the other day! The first one is Dreyton's reaction when he realized he was caught "watering the lawn."

A 50 cent ride on the Fort Collins "Trolley Train" (as Dreyton likes to call it)...now that's what I call affordable entertainment!

Rocky Mountain National Park - Estes Park

Dreyton loved our little hike at Rocky Mountain National Park. He rode on Dad's back on the way up, but was thrilled to run down the mountain on the way back. At the entrance to Bear Lake, a "city bus" shuttled people to lower parking lots. We didn't need to take the bus, but Dreyton was fascinated by how close he could get. He stood right at this spot and initiated a 5 minute conversation with the bus driver. Luckily she didn't mind his inquisitive nature!

Since Grandpa left his hat here for the snowman, Dreyton brought it inside for safekeeping.

While hanging out on the counter with Jaxon waiting for his bath, Mom caught Dreyton giving Jax some knuckles.

Easter Morning 2009

On Easter morning, Dreyton woke up to an Easter basket filled with new jammies, a new ball, and four matchbox cars...Lightning McQueen, Chick Hicks, The King, and another racer. Dreyton helped Jaxon read and feel his new Thumper book. The Easter Bunny also left Jaxon a newsboy hat, but he has a little bit of growing to do yet before it will fit. Since it was a cold and rainy day, the Easter Bunny left the eggs for mom to hide indoors. Dreyton was VERY good at finding them.

We caught Dreyton brushing his teeth with Mom's toothbrush. So Mom bought a new toothbrush and moved them all to the bathroom closet on a high shelf. Mom was working late the next day, so Dad called Mom and said Dreyton had a question he needed to ask. Dreyton got on the phone and said "Where Mommy's toothbrush go?" It didn't take him long to notice! A few minutes after getting off the phone, Dad found Dreyton back in the bathroom with the closet door open and Dreyton up on his stool. He looked at Dad and said "No reach Mommy's toothbrush!"

Dreyton likes to lay under the baby gym with Jaxon. (The scratches on his face are from a run in with Abby at Daycare...I wonder what he did to provoke it!)

Here's a quick update on the boys. Jaxon is getting very big, as you can see. At his two month appointment he was 73rd percentile in height, and 85th percentile in weight. But he's not rolly polly...no deep rolls in his arms and legs! He's just right...50th percentile...when you put the two together. He's babbling and smiling a lot now. And he likes his big brother.

Dreyton has been completely potty trained (except for night time) for awhile now. Thanks goodness for the grandmas consistently setting that timer while they were here right after Jaxon was born. He loves to sing songs, count, and say his ABC's. He is especially happy that spring weather is finally here...he gets to play outside in the dirt and with the bugs.

Our Weekend Trip to Breckenridge

We met our friends Bryan, Tami, and Mason at Breckenridge for a long weekend. We stayed slopeside so the adults got to take turns skiing. All three of the boys got to swim at the pool, while just Dreyton and Mason got to go sledding, play mini golf, and ride motorcycles at the arcade. We didn't get pictures of Jaxon's first swim, but he LOVED it. Almost as much as Dreyton LOVED sledding. Next year, Dreyton and Mason will get to ski with us!!!
